Rotary Club of Bundaberg East - East Bundaberg Rotary Club

Last Year

Bundaberg Library / East Bundaberg Rotary Book Sale

This project started in 2008, and is already one of the Club’s most visible projects in the community. In conjunction with the Bundaberg Regional Library Service, Club Members transport and store thousands of items, then help set up and sell everything from books to DVDS to jigsaw puzzles.

The next book sale will be held in early 2011, and promises to be the biggest yet. Donations of items can be delivered to the Bundaberg Regional Library, 49 Woondooma Street, during business hours.

Strike Team Fire Fighters

As fires swept through many rural areas in the Bundaberg District, from                                               Gaeta to Cordalba, emergency strike teams flew in from all over the State, and Northern NSW. Our club was asked to provide meals for these crews, as they rotated nightly. With the help of the Rotary Club of Bargara, we catered for up to 70 firefighters and officers each night from Wednesday to Saturday in late October 2009.

Club Members were happy to be of service to these volunteers and professionals who risk their lives protecting strangers'  land and homes.

Swap Meet

The Bundy Swap Meet is organized and run each year by the combined efforts of Bundaberg East Rotary and Bargara Rotary.

Stallholders travel from all over Queensland for a day of selling and bargain hunting, with the Swap Meet attended annually by thousands of people. The Swap Meet is held each year in October at the Agro Trend grounds.

The Bundy Swap Meet in 2010 will be held on Saturday 16th October.

Rotary Calendar

The first Rotary Calender was published in 2008, with 13 photos of the Bundaberg region. Photographers from the local Club submitted their favourite photos, with the final photos being chosen by the Club for inclusion in the calendar.

The Calendar is sold each year from August until November, or until stocks run out.
